The Paint Team Leader is responsible for painting a variety of parts to produce quality products with appropriate finishes. You will coordinate and oversee the activities of the Paint Division within TCW Manufacturing and ensuring that paint production schedules are completed on time.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Mix paint to specified color and consistency.
  • Prepare aluminum, vinyl, and other materials for the painting process using cleaners, sanders and other surface preparation equipment as necessary.
  • Perform inspection of all material prior to painting
  • Spray paint a variety of parts as required to meet production and quality requirements
  • Prepare doors and screen doors by cleaning, sanding, painting as required
  • Prioritize work orders according to shipping date and production time
  • Ensure painting work is completed efficiently and on time
  • Monitor and ensure quality of paint and thinners
  • Clean and maintain all paint apparatus
  • Maintain housekeeping of work area and cleans equipment
  • Thoroughly inspect completed projects to guarantee superior quality
  • Monitor paint operation to ensure efficiency and completeness of paint curing
  • Prepare touch-up kits
  • Follow and enforces all safety regulations
  • Follow and enforces all company policies and procedures
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of paint area employees, and supervises team during the paint operations
  • Receive instructions and work specifications from supervisor and communicates them to team
  • Increase worker efficiency and production rates; gives direction, help solve problems, and motivate team members
  • Demonstrate equipment operations, work and safety procedures and train new employees and/or assigns employees to experienced workers for training

Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience
  • Individuals who thrive as part of a team
  • Genuine desire to build a career in manufacturing
  • High level of personal accountability, problem solving skills and resourcefulness
  • Prior experience in Windows manufacturing is a plus, but definitely not required

This position requires the ability to lift up to 10 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds frequently.

Position may require overtime hours to be worked on a short notice.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Located in Upper Marlboro, MD our modern manufacturing facility offers a year round climate controlled environment. Noise level can be moderate to high at times.

 

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: Because it is our concern to offer a safe work environment, this position requires the use of mandatory Safety Personal Protective Equipment at all times while performing job duties at the Manufacturing Floor. PPE include steel-toe shoes, safety glasses/googles, protective hearing plugs and/or muffles, safety gloves and/or apron. It can also include a respiratory mask depending on the assigned workstation.
