The Manufacturing Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of the assigned production line within TCW Manufacturing and ensuring that production schedules are completed on time.

    Responsibilities

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

    • Set up all machines, blocking, guides, jigs, drills, and dies on equipment to produce error free product within documented tolerances.
    • Direct and coordinate the activities of line employees and supervise team during the line operations.
    • Operate saws, punch and drill presses, mills, and other equipment.
    • Provide demonstrations of equipment operations, work and safety procedures and train new employees and/or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
    • Increase labor efficiency and production rates by giving direction, problem solving, and motivating team members.
    • Inform Production Line Manager of daily headcount/attendance and provide a plan to cover workstations due to absenteeism.
    • Fill in on any line workstation when a team member is absent.
    • Prioritize work orders according to shipping date and production time frames.
    • Respond to any downtime situation and correct immediately or communicate need for support.
    • Monitor backorder report and make the required adjustments.
    • Perform detailed quality checks to identify any product defects on every unit produced.
    • Assist Production Line Manager with preparation of annual employee performance assessments.
    • Determine team training needs and make recommendations for team member cross training and workstation rotation to Production Line Manager.
    • Identify opportunities for product and/or production processes improvement and make recommendations to Production Line Manager.
    • Bring to Production Line Manager’s attention about any incidents or behavioral issues of team members that may require further investigation.
    • Follow and enforce all safety regulations, company policies and procedures.
    • Maintain a safe work area and insure all accidents and near misses are reported immediately.

    Qualifications

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    • High school diploma or GED and 4 years’ relevant experience preferably in window manufacturing.
    • Proficiency with communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Ability to read and understand written and visual work instructions.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    • This position primarily works in a manufacturing environment with a cement floor. Parts of the facility lack climate control which will subject individuals performing in this role to elements of the natural climate, including temperatures varying between 30 degrees and 100 degrees. Noise level can be moderate to high at times.
