We’re proud of our history, and proud to help our communities improve the comfort and conditions of their homes.  Thompson Creek is looking for confident and results-driven Product Buyer to be responsible for initiating purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools. 



    •  Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.
    • Manage vendors by monitoring vendor pricing, shipping, ensuring order confirmations are received, and administering returns.
    • Negotiate prices and lead time of products with vendors.
    • Create reports in SAP ECC for confirmations of purchase orders and daily exceptions.
    • Address delivery issues and reports of last minute issues for upcoming installs.
    • Address receiving issues with vendor shipments.
    • Manage vendor scorecard and hold vendors accountable by assessing vendor’s customer service standards using vendor report cards.
    • Manage subcontractor records and scorecard – track installer insurance, cancellation, delays with installs, and damages.
    • Perform cancel log review and analysis – review the reason for cancellation and update the vendor scorecard to reflect the vendor issue.
    • Reconcile purchase orders for invoicing.
    • Review and process return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) and negotiate credits with vendors.
    • Create purchase orders for demo and sample items for sales and field staff.
    • Process installer deductions and invoices for payment.
    • Communicate with other departments as needed to meet customer service goals.
    • Respond to material gaps to resolve urgent customer issues.



    •  Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years’ experience in purchasing/ buying roles; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP system strongly preferred.
